How it works
Corstim tES delivers low-intensity electrical stimulation to targeted brain regions, modulating cortical activity and supporting neuroplasticity. Depending on the selected stimulation mode:
-
tDCS (transcranial direct current stimulation) can increase or decrease neuronal excitability,
-
tACS (transcranial alternating current stimulation) modulates brain oscillations through frequency-specific stimulation,
-
tRNS (transcranial random noise stimulation) may enhance neural signal processing and adaptive cortical responses.
The stimulation is delivered through surface electrodes placed on the scalp during sessions typically lasting around 30 minutes.
As a non-invasive and well-tolerated neuromodulation method, transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) has an established safety profile, supported by extensive clinical literature encompassing over 300,000 treatment sessions (Antal et al., 2025). Across the published evidence, no serious tES-related adverse events have been reported. Reported side effects are generally mild and transient, most commonly including localized sensations beneath the electrodes, mild headache, or fatigue.
